Little Man really loves anything to do with the circus, Nana & Pop have taken him to the circus a couple of times and he loves it, so when he found out about the party he was so excited.

One of his favourites was spinning the plate on the stick, he was getting good at it by the end of the party. He could hold it up really high, he didn’t quite get the spinning part happening but he was having fun anyway.

Next was the circus ring, this was great fun spinning around and swinging back and forth.

What would the circus be without standing up on the trapeze. Way to go!!

He has been suffering with pain in his ears and has been very hard of hearing. At first I thought it was that he just didn’t want to hear me but then it just got worse. He would sit in the car and say pardon all the time, I was having to repeat myself all the time, I was getting frustrated so I knew that he must be also.

Yes it was time for a trip to the Ear, Nose & Throat specialist to get to the bottom of all this. I rang to get an appointment and of course they just say, “sorry we don’t have anything until November” WHAT!!!. My poor little man is in pain  here. But I was lucky, they had a cancellation for the Friday morning, yay, we will take it.

The Doctor was great and the little man had to have a hearing test, he was such a good little man and did what he was told to do and clapped when he was suppose to, he did really well.

The Verdict was that his hearing wasn’t the greatest but it was caused by a lot of fluid in his ear, which fortunately can be fixed, with a little thing called a Grommet. He will have to have to have this put in his ear in a couple of weeks time and hopefully this will fix all the problems that he has been having.  We will have the happy little boy back, without the sore ears.

I was nearly blown away when I received the package of school photos the other day. Wow, I don’t remember school photos being like these. They are fantastic and I am really happy that he had these done.

They were done by a couple who run  Uber Photography and they have done a really great job of capturing the children doing what they do best, Playing..

The Little Man has been excited about Daddy coming to school with him for weeks, so when finally the day had arrived he was sooooo excited, it was hard to contain him all morning until it was time to leave.

Fun was had by all, Daddy had a shave by the little man, with real shaving cream, not getting to much in his eyes, but fortunately for Daddy a paddle pop stick was used as a razor, phew!.  As you can see from the pictures they had a great morning.

Just wanted to share this really great drawing that the little man did, he really likes to draw faces. This poor person has his arms coming out of its head and some on its body as well. What a great imagination.

He was so excited that he was going to turn 4, “I am a big boy now I have turned 4″

We just had a quiet one this year with family and friends, he has been lucky as he has had a couple of parties with a couple of cakes, when he actual birthday came he asked me where his cake was. He had already had 2 cakes.

He had a really great day this year, which makes up for his 3rd birthday when he was grumpy and didn’t want to know anyone.

We Love You!!!

I really really dislike dinner time in my house, dinner time for the children that is. I really don’t know what else to do.

Here is the story, dinner time comes, I have all these plans for what I am going to make the children. I always said that I would not make two meals, one for them, and one for us, but they eat to early and my husband is not home yet, so I wait and eat with him.

I will always sit with the children while they are eating, or should I say not eating their dinner.  I ask the Little Man what he would like for his dinner, big mistake really, he usually says “nothing”. Ok good start. Little Miss is usually ok, she will eat most of what I put in front of her, even if she spits it out all over the table every now and then, saying that it is too hot, when it is bearly even warm. But you can usually put it back in and she will eat it up.

However she is now little miss copy cat, so she has started to take notice of what the Little Man is up to and sometimes follows. Not very often fortunately but sometimes it does happen.

The Little Man has now not eaten his dinner for 3 nights in a row, so he gets half a cup of milk before going to bed, instead of his full cup and off to bed with nothing in his little tummy. I hate doing this, but a lot of books say a hungry child will eat. He will eat if I was to dish him up ice-cream or cookies or all the other bad things there are, but he won’t eat his main meal. So I have been trying the going to bed hungry and then the next night he will eat everything because he doesn’t want to do that again. BUT he doesn’t seem to care one little bit.

I am lost!. It is not like I am a dreadful cook, I cook them nice things. He will say “that smells really yummy mummy, I am going to eat all my dinner tonight” but when you put it in front of him he will say that he isn’t hungry anymore, or he will only eat a few mouthfuls and that is it. arrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!

He is not that fussy at other meal times, it just seems to be dinner time, I have no idea. I hope that it is just a faze that he is going through.

Stressed out dinner time Mum!

The Little Man started pre-school last week, wow that was a very interesting experience for all involved.

I left little miss with Nana & Pop so that I could concentrate on the little man and his big day. I don’t know though I think that it was a bigger day for me than for him.

He was so excited to go, he was saying in the car on the way there, “I am excited about going to school today”, I was excited for him, and I thought that I was ok with it all. UNTIL it was time to say goodbye, he just waved with this big smile on his face “bye, bye Mummy, see you later”, wow it hit me I had to remove myself from the class room really fast before he could see my face and the tears welling up in my eyes.

I got in the car and just burst into tears, I couldn’t believe it, why was I crying, he was suppose to be crying not me!.  I drove all the way home in tears, can you believe that. I called my husband and said ” my little baby is becoming a big boy” that was when it hit me as to why I was crying.

My little man was growing up so fast, and I wasn’t ready for it. He is becoming a really little boy now, I realised this was the beginning of the end, he has started school, the time will now go so fast before I know it he will be a little man and won’t want anything to do with his Mum anymore, I know a few more years till then, but the last 3 1/2 years have gone so fast what are the next years going to do.

He loved his first day at pre-school, he did all the things that he has been wanting to do, painting, pasting, reading, playing with others, and generally having fun. He was looking forward to going again today, he seemed a little more reserved today as it is not new anymore, but he went with out any issues.

I was just looking at him when he went off to play with the other children, and he really is growing so fast, I love him so much I will miss him. I know it is only 2 days a week and I should enjoy the break, and I still have little miss to keep me on my toes.

Wrestling Champion

On New Years we went to a friends house for a BBQ, the little man was given this outfit as a present.

He thought that it was great that we were all laughing at him.

The funniest thing was that he had no idea what the outfit is, as he has never seen the wrestling (and not likely to for a while yet).

He had fun and it was very funny watching him copy the others as he didn’t really know what he was doing.

The little man is going through the Why stage, he is close to 3 1/2 and I have been waiting for it to happen.  But I don’t think that we were really that ready for it, as now it is here I am going crazy.

“Why are you doing that?”
“What is that for?”
“How come those are there?”
“Why can’t I?”

My favourite ” Why haft I?”

Why so many questions for the same problem. One why would surely be enough? do we really need to ask why 4 or 5 times, it is the same answer you are going to get all 4 or 5 times.

I don’t have an issue answering the questions at all, as that is how the little ones learn, they are just trying to find out the information that they need.

What gets me is the “Why do we need that”, “We need it to make it work” ,”oh”
2 mins later, “Why do we need that” ,”Because we need it to make it work” “oh”
another 2 mins later, same thing.

About the 4th time I try to turn it around and ask him ” Why do you think that we need that?” Just to see if he was actually listening, and to see if he actually has taken the answer in. 9 times out of 10 he gives me the answer that I have given him.  So he is listening.

So WHY so many WHYs???

Do your little people ask over and over again to the same question? How do you deal with it, maybe I could try something different.
