First Little Miss decided it would be a good idea to put on Little Mans Singlet and underpants over the top of her clothes. Then do the cleaning whilst playing the harmonica, it was hilarous, I am so glad that I captured these for the future.

Then the little Man insisted on being a snow man and wanted to have a carrot nose and other fruit eyes. What better to stick it to your face than sticky tape.

Of course Little Miss had to have a turn, can’t do anything for one that you can’t do for the other.

Fortunately Uncle had been organising one already for the weekend, so we were able to celebrate with Auntie B when we got back home.

Had a really lovely lunch with lots of friends and family, yes Nana & Grandad came home with us on Friday so the little people were very excited about that.

So off the three of them went, down the wharf at the end of Nana & Grandad’s street, and tried out the little mans new fishing rod.

They had a great time, I went down to see what was going on and said to the little man, have you caught any fish yet. He said “No, but that isn’t the point, we are having a good time” Well sorry!. Sometimes I am not sure how old he really is, going on 4 or 40.

Sorry that it didn’t turn out to be the greatest birthday, but at least you are little and didn’t really know what was going on.

The story is that Little Misses Daddy was running for the train on the way home from work on Friday night and he tripped and broke his leg, he ended up in emergency on the night of little miss’ birthday. Her birthday party with family was canceled on the Saturday night as Daddy was still in hospital.  We will make up for it next year.

It has taken a while but we have finally done it. The little Man is still sleeping in our bed until I go to bed and then I put  him back in his own bed. But I think that we should be able to get him to start in his own bed tomorrow night, we will just have to see how it goes.

Daddy sits just inside the door and she stays in her bed and just goes off to sleep instead of the constant getting up and down and sleeping in a ball on the floor.

She still hasn’t worked out how to stay under her covers, but I am sure that will come with time. She screams out at about 3am, I am woken with a start and get up to find her on top of her covers, complaining that she is cold, well it is no wonder, I would be cold if I was on the top of my covers too. So I put her back and snuggle her back under the covers and then that is usually it until the morning.

Lets just cross our fingers and hope that it is it for now. I know that we are going to get teething issues soon, so it is a never ending cycle, but a fun one.

It was however a bit of an adventure for us to get there. Little Miss and I picked up the Little Man from Preschool and went on an adventure. We first stopped at the shops for a bite to eat, then we went on a big adventure to the train station to catch the train. Wow!!.

As you can imagine the Little Man was very excited about getting to go on a train even though it was only 4 stops, but still we were on the train, looking out the window at the world going by. Very exciting for a nearly 4 and nearly 2 year old.

We arrived at our destination and then we had to walk a little way to reach the hall that the ceremony was being held at. Of course it decided to bucket down with rain half way there. We had to take shelter near a bus stop and watched the buses pick up the people, which is also fascinating for small children.  It had to be the day that I left my umbrella at home didn’t it. I had the children all sorted, but I got wet. Oh well, oh to be a Mum.

I was a very nice ceremony and my friend is now an Australian Citizen. Way to go, Congratulations you deserve to be an Aussie. Now you can go around and say G’Day Mate.

She was presented her certificate by the Mayor, and then we were treated with Lamingtons and Anzac biscuits, very Australian.  My Husband said that they were Australian Food Icons not just a cake or a biscuit

The trip home wasn’t so bad, the little people were very tired after the big day, it wasn’t raining so the walk to the station wasn’t so bad, and we had Daddy with us to help as he met us there. Little Miss fell asleep in the car on the way home it all got too much for them. What a good day. Well done Lovely.

The little people were having a bubble bath the other day, and I just couldn’t resist taking the camera in the room with them. They just looked so cute all surrounded in bubbles. I don’t really know what it is but the kids LOVE it!.

I remember having a bubble bath with my sister when we were little, they are so much fun. You can use all your imagination. Play, play, play until the water is almost cold.

The Little Man always makes me a Chai Latte as that is my favourite drink, he calls it a Chai Matte which is very cute. They just have fun.

I left the children in the safe hands of the grandparents and went and stayed at my sisters house. We had to get up early and be in the car by 7.30am. I was a bit excited because days with my sister are always great it didn’t really matter where we were going.

Driving, driving, driving, we were heading in the direction of Canberra, so I guessed that is where we would be going. My sister decided it might be a good time to now tell me where we are going and what we will be doing.

Well we were going to Canberra (3 hour drive from Sydney), and we were going to have a lovely lunch at a fancy pants restaurant over looking Lake Burley Griffin, which is a man made lake in the middle of Canberra. Then we are off to the national gallery of Australia to see the Masterpieces from Paris.

What a fantastic Birthday present, we had such a lovely day, just the 2 of us having lunch and then wandering around the art gallery. The exhibition was fantastic, it was great to see the originals of such wonderful paintings. It was the first time that these painting had been outside of Paris. Masterpieces From Paris.

Thanks to my wonderful sister and brother in law for a wonderful day to remember.

We were given a weekend away for Christmas from my wonderful parents, Sister & brother in-law. It was really nice just to get away from it all, just the four of us. We had a really nice time, unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side, but we still enjoyed ourselves, rain or no rain.

Our first stop was at the Kiama blowhole. It is a hole in a rock in the ocean, as the waves crash against the side of the rock, it shoots up through the hole, causing a spray of water. Little Man thought it was great, Little miss didn’t really like it at all, she just buried her head in my shoulder.

We then arrived at our destination and the children had a bit of together time, amazing, they sat on the couch and did some reading. Just relaxing for the rest of the afternoon, conserving our energy for a walk the next day.

A walk we did!, it was a long walk but the little man did really really well and walked most of the way, little miss had it easy in the backpack on Daddys back, but she had a big day all the same. Here are a few pictures of our walk, we had a wonderful day, even in the rain.

The rain got quite heavy so had to put the poncho and jackets on, very stylish don’t you think?

The rain didn’t last very long, just a bit of a downpour.

We made it to the major falls at the top, it was worth it, as it had been raining the falls were great.

Unfortunately we couldn’t go the whole day with out an injury, Little miss decided to have an arguement with the ground, I think the ground won. Poor little thing got a bit of a bruise and graze on her forehead and her nose.

It all got too much, sleep was the best option, looks pretty comfortable. I wish it was me, I had to piggy back the little man most of the way down the mountain, he is such a fidget and getting so heavy. But we were having fun which was the main thing.  He was trying to tell me that there were monsters in the trees, apparently they were friendly ones so we were going to be ok, phew!

Overall the day was great, the weekend was great. It is nice to spend some quality time with your family, my family are the best, I love them to death!.

I thought that I didn’t really mind moving, but last week I changed my mind. Actually I think the part that I really don’t is the packing up part, but I don’t mind the unpacking part.

I have had fun moving things around and finding new homes for all our bits and pieces, this is not an easy task when there is NO room to put all the bits and pieces. I have had to be very ruthless this move, but I have actually enjoyed it to a certain extent, I have thrown things out that I haven’t used for years but just seem to keep moving. Why is that we do that? some things have a sentimental attachment but a lot of it you think you will need it at a later date, so you have to keep it for some reason, well not this time.

Finally we have finished moving and now we are just concentrating on the unpacking. This takes time, certainly when you have two small people that like to “help”, but I am slowly getting there. I have had fun shopping for storage solutions to fill the small spaces, without making the house look over crowded. I will share in due course, I have to make it look tidy before displaying to the world.

I won’t mention that I still have two, yes two, storage units full of furniture and boxes that I don’t really know what to do with. As we are paying for this storage, I have set a task for myself. Every time I drive past the storage units I have to pick up one or two boxes to unpack. The furniture on the other hand I am going to try and sell or give to charity.

It is all work in progress. It has been a busy couple of weeks, and it was probably a blessing that I didn’t have the internet connected, or I probably would still be surrounded by boxes today. But I am back now and looking forward to a great 2010. I hope that you will join me.
