Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Birthday Surprise

It is my birthday next week and my beautiful sister wanted to give me my birthday present, but I had to have it early and I had to go somewhere, but I had no idea where I was going. My sister loves to give experiences rather than just things for your birthday.

I left the children in the safe hands of the grandparents and went and stayed at my sisters house. We had to get up early and be in the car by 7.30am. I was a bit excited because days with my sister are always great it didn’t really matter where we were going.

Driving, driving, driving, we were heading in

Weekend Away!

Family Holidays

We were given a weekend away for Christmas from my wonderful parents, Sister & brother in-law. It was really nice just to get away from it all, just the four of us. We had a really nice time, unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side, but we still enjoyed ourselves, rain or no rain.

Our first stop was at the Kiama blowhole. It is a hole in a rock in the ocean, as the waves crash against the side of the rock, it shoots up through the hole, causing a spray of water. Little Man thought it was great, Little miss didn’t really like it at all, she just buried

Finished the Move!

I must start by saying that I really hate moving, I know hate it such a harsh word, but I have to use it in this instance. The little man will tell you that you are not allowed to hate anything, you just don’t like it very much.

I thought that I didn’t really mind moving, but last week I changed my mind. Actually I think the part that I really don’t is the packing up part, but I don’t mind the unpacking part.

I have had fun moving things around and finding new homes for all our bits and pieces, this is not an easy task when there is NO room

Finally a New Home

A change is as good as a holiday

so they say. Finally after lots of searching and time spent looking at open houses, we found our new home.

It is going to be a very interesting move for us, but I am sure that once we work out what we are going to do with all our furniture it will all be Ok.

We are going to be moving from a 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment, mmmmmm I can see a bit of an issue with the size difference there.

I am actually looking forward to the lifestyle change, it will be a challenge, but at the same time it will

Love Thy Neighbour

Isn’t it great when you get a good neighbour, when you buy a house you just never know what kind of a neighbour you are going to end up with. You always hope that they are going to be nice, but you just never know.

We were fortunate to have a lovely neighbour buy the house next door, and we have chatted and caught up since they moved in. Now that we have sold and are moving on it will be sad to leave the neighbours behind.

She is a lovely lady and has been a gem to me and my family, when she found out we were selling, of course she

SOLD - Mixed Emotions

SOLD House

Well today was a big day for us, we sold our beautiful house.  We are of course pleased that we have sold the house, but it is with very mixed emotions.

As I said previously we were selling up and moving on, due to the Global financial crisis. We have been sitting here tonight, celebrating would be the wrong word to use. We are happy that we have sold, because we need to, but not so happy as we are selling a house that we like to live in, and don’t really want to sell.  But oh well that is life, I believe that things happen for a reason.

I

One Lovely Blog Award

I was surprised when I received this award, it is always nice to receive an award for what you do.

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Richele from Under the Golden Apple Tree for giving me this award. I really appreciate it.

The Last Room to Clean

There always has to be a last room to clean, as we are selling the house we have had to de clutter and make the house look like someone might want to buy it. The agent says that you are not selling your clutter and your furniture, you are selling the house.

If you have sold a house or tried to sell a house, then you will know that this is easier said than done, certainly when you still have to live in the house that you are trying to sell, and more so when you have two extremely active toddlers to deal with. But of course you just get in

Selling Up and Moving On

Ready for the next Chapter

I really hate to say this but we are unfortunately one of the unlucky ones that has been hit hard by the GFC (Global financial crisis).

So it is time to pack our things, sell the house and move on to bigger and better things.

I think the hardest part is fixing up the house for selling, knowing full well that you really don’t want to sell, as you like living in the house. But it is the right decision and we can buy another house in the future, just not yet.

Today we have spent most of the day cleaning, fixing, and beautifying our house so the photographers

Singing In The Car

I Love to Sing

I just LOVE singing in the car and always have, if I was to answer a questionnaire about my favorite things to do, one of them would be singing in the car.

Sometimes the Little Man really doesn’t like me singing “Don’t sing mummy!”, if it is a male singing he will say “it is my turn, this is the boys bit”, but then he never seems to sing along. It really depends if he knows the song.

Since having children, I find that more often than not the music we have playing in the car are the Wiggles or some children’s CD, hardly ever my own music, if
