As I am on the social committee this was a big night for us all, all the organising that goes into putting a night like this together is amazing. We have been busy for a few weeks now, making sure that we had everything ready so the night could run smoothly.

The theme for our trivia night was Getting Wiggy With It - Wear a wig, headdress, hat or crazy hair. It was a great turn out, we got 130 people to attended and I would have to say prob 110 of those people wore a wig, it was fantastic.

Of course my family being a bit of a party family, we were all there with wigs on. We had a great night, and it was a successful fundraiser for the school..

You were able to go and have a look at Plastiki and say hi to the crew that sailed it here to Sydney from San Francisco. The Little Man and I were invited to go and see it at the maritime Museum at Darling harbour. So of course we jumped at the chance, I thought that the little man would be interested to see a boat made from all recycled material. It was great, here is Plastiki’s official web site if you would like to take a look. It is still at the maritime museum for a while if you want to check it out for yourself.

After all the fun was over I thought that while we were at the Maritime Mueseum and it was only the little man and I, I would take him to see the Submarine, he thought it was great that we got to go inside.

Inside - On one of the bunk beds. When I looked at him in the bunk, I thought how did a grown man sleep in that small bunk for long periods of time. Amazing.

All the engines, he was fascinated by it all.

It was a great Mum & Son day, we had loads of fun.

He was so excited that he was going to turn 4, “I am a big boy now I have turned 4″

We just had a quiet one this year with family and friends, he has been lucky as he has had a couple of parties with a couple of cakes, when he actual birthday came he asked me where his cake was. He had already had 2 cakes.

He had a really great day this year, which makes up for his 3rd birthday when he was grumpy and didn’t want to know anyone.

We Love You!!!

Well it  has been a very busy couple of weeks for me and I really haven’t had a chance to scratch myself, let alone write for a blog. But I am back, I hope anyway. I have started another new adventure, I started my own home business so I have been busy working on that.

Then this week has been a bit out of the ordinary. But I will do a couple of posts tonight just to fill you in as to what has been happening to us in the last couple of weeks.

Firstly a couple more photos that I never got around to posting from the Sky walk, when we went for our walk amongst the trees.

The view from the top was amazing, you could see that whole area. Worth the walking.

Then we visited Sydney’s 17th Biennale on Cockatoo Island, we caught the ferry over there and had a wander and a sausage sandwich. We had a look at some of the art work, but some of it was really strange, and some of it really wasn’t for young childrens eyes so we avoided those. But all in all we had a lovely day with family and friends.

The little Man kept complaining that he was cold, so his uncle wrapped him up in every ones jumpers and jackets.

Little Miss thought that it was funny, and started doing a little dance around him.

Last night was amusing, we started off with the normal not wanting to sleep. Put the little man in our bed to sleep just in case. We just carried on with the putting back into bed routine. It finally went quiet around 8.20pm, 22 times of putting her back. We breathed a sigh of relief, finally she had gone quiet.

We were sitting there thinking, we should just leave her for a few more minutes, in case she is not asleep. So this is what we did. We then both took a peek in her bedroom a bit later on to see if she was ok.

The silly little thing had decided to get out of bed and go to sleep in the middle of the floor, curled up in a ball, she was sound asleep. Oh dear!, who could say that the floor was more comfortable than your beautiful warm, cozy bed. Apparently Little Miss thinks so. We just picked her up and put her into bed and didn’t hear another thing out of her until the morning.

Tonight she was so tired that she fell asleep at 6.15pm in the car on the way home from Nana & Pop’s house, I was able to just transfer her from the car to her bed, she is still sound asleep.

It just makes me want to scream, I am sure anyone that is or has been a Mum has felt this feeling. Don’t get me wrong I love them both to death, and I wouldn’t hurt them in any way. It is just a feeling. Being a parent is hard work let me tell you.

This is what has made me so cranky

Little Miss has decided that all of a sudden we are not going to go to sleep when it is sleep time. It is funny how children change so much as they grow. Little Miss was a great sleeper as a baby and the little Man wasn’t. Now Little Miss is a dreadful first going to sleep and the Little Man is a great. I wish they could both be great.

We do all the normal routine things that you read about in books with your children when they go to bed. Most of the books that you read will tell you to make bedtime the same every night. We have a saying in our house, Milk, Teeth, Book, Bed. The Little Man doesn’t seem to, and has never had a issue with it, he is now sleeping soundly.

Little Miss on the other hand, has a different idea. It started about 4 nights ago, she decided that she didn’t want to go to sleep, she had a bit of a cry and a thrash about, but that was about it. Then the night after that it was a little worse she kept getting out of bed, so I tried putting her back, but she just kept getting out, so I had to sit on her bed and pat her, I didn’t want her to wake the little man (they share a room) eventually she went off to sleep.

Then it just gets worse, last night, the little man was staying with the grandparents, we thought that we would just be persistent and keep putting her back in her bed, every time she got out. It took 61 times to put her back, finally she went to sleep at 8.45pm, bed time is usually 7pm.

Tonight hasn’t been much better, I ended up putting the little man in my bed so he could get some sleep, she finally went to sleep at 8.50pm after the 62nd time I put her back into bed, I also had to sit on the end of the bed, but I didn’t pat this time though.

I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this is not going to happen tomorrow night, but I have my doubts unfortunately.

Yes I am very pleased with myself, I have finished designing and putting together our new website for my Mum and I. As I mentioned before, I was knitting like crazy and that we were going to be selling hand made items that we have made our selves.

Well I was in charge of setting up the web site and getting it all sorted. There is still a bit of tweeking here and there to be done but overall I am pleased with how it has turned out. It is still early days so I am sure there will be a bit more learning on the way.

Considering I have never designed or set up a website before, I think that I have done well. I have learned a huge amount of things on the way. I have also used a lot of what I learned when I put together this blog, so that came in handy.

Of course I wasn’t going to miss that for the world. So my husband stayed home to look after little miss while I went off to be pampered.

The little Man had a fantastic time, and so did I of course, who wouldn’t when you are about to be pampered by your nearly 4 year old son.

Ok this is how the morning paned out, we arrived and got straight into it. The little Man first made me a necklace (see photo) which I very proudly wore for the rest of the morning, then we went and had a bit of make up applied and my nails painted, all done proudly by the little man. You could see that he was loving every minute of it.

I had hand cream rubbed into my hands, my hair put in rollers, my back massaged and then we got to have a sit down and play with some toys and do a couple of puzzles before it was time for mummy to head home.

What a fantastic morning I had, I felt like a very spoilt and special Mum, I do every mothers day but this was different. I think it was great for the preschool to organise such a morning for us Mums, we LOVE it!.

I just loved the Orange eye shadow, it is really me don’t you think?

It was a great day and I am looking forward to next years.

I can’t believe that it is not even winter yet and we already have a colds in the house.

We haven’t seen a sniffle or a runny nose for months, and as soon as the weather decides to change and get a bit colder, thats it it starts.

What is it about children and getting colds. We have train tracks coming down faces, we have sleepless nights because we can’t breath, nothing a bit of vics on the chest can’t fix. But we still have colds in the house and it isn’t even winter yet. The little man isn’t even at preschool, we are on school holidays.

This is what worries me the most, what is it going to be like when it really is winter, what are the noses going to be like then, I can’t imagine, I don’t want to imagine. I will just have to up the vitamins and hope for the best.

Wish me luck, I think I am going to need it.
