Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Pinwheel Biscuits/Cookies

Mmmm Cookies

As I mentioned in a previous post, my Dad is a chef, well we spent the weekend with them last weekend, and The little man and his Grandad decided to do a spot of cooking, they made these pinwheel biscuits. The little man had a great time and I think Grandad might have had just as much fun.

Ingredients

4oz Butter or Margarine
4oz caster sugar
1 Egg, beaten
8oz flour
1/2 oz cocoa

Putting it all together

1. Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. add the egg a little at a time, beating after each addition.
2. Stir in the flour and mix to a fairly firm dough.
3. Divide the mixture in half.
4. Knead

Selling Up and Moving On

Ready for the next Chapter

I really hate to say this but we are unfortunately one of the unlucky ones that has been hit hard by the GFC (Global financial crisis).

So it is time to pack our things, sell the house and move on to bigger and better things.

I think the hardest part is fixing up the house for selling, knowing full well that you really don’t want to sell, as you like living in the house. But it is the right decision and we can buy another house in the future, just not yet.

Today we have spent most of the day cleaning, fixing, and beautifying our house so the photographers

Little Miss very deep in thought at the park.

We have just had a wonderful weekend away with Nana & Grandad.

The children always have a great time with thier Grandparents, and of course thier Grandparents have a great time with them.

This time when it was time to go home the little man said “I don’t want to go home, I like it here with Nana & Grandad”

Unfortunately fun has to come to an end this time, and we had to come home.

Asymmetric Wrap Vest - Knitting Project

Knitting Patons Wrap Vest

This week for our craft project I thought that I would share my knitting project with you all.

I am making the Patons Asymmetric Wrap Vest.  Which is of course a Patons pattern, it is knitted sideways in one piece, it is classed as an easy knit.

I have knitted it on a circular needle as it would be to hard to fit all the stitches on a normal needle, at one stage during the knitting process you have 159 stitches.

The picture to the right is what it is suppose to look like when it is finished. A friend of mine has knitted one already and hers looks great,

Apples Have Great Health Benefits

Why Not Eat an Apple Today!

Apples can dramatically improve your nutritional intake and provide great health benefits. Apples are rich in pectin, which is a natural soluble fiber found in many fruits, but apples have the highest source of pectin of all fruits. Pectin can assist with the digestion of food and helps to reduce cholesterol. It can also assist with the reduction of high blood pressure.  Did you know that one apple contains as much fiber as a bowl of bran cereal.

Apples are great, and so convenient, you can eat them anytime, anywhere, they are so good for you and they taste great.

Apples contain Quercetin which is thought to

Why, Where and How Come

Why So Many?

The little man is going through the Why stage, he is close to 3 1/2 and I have been waiting for it to happen.  But I don’t think that we were really that ready for it, as now it is here I am going crazy.

“Why are you doing that?”
“What is that for?”
“How come those are there?”
“Why can’t I?”

My favourite ” Why haft I?”

Why so many questions for the same problem. One why would surely be enough? do we really need to ask why 4 or 5 times, it is the same answer you are going to get all 4 or 5 times.

I don’t have an issue answering the

Happy Birthday to Pop!

This weekend was a very busy one for my family, it was Pop’s 70th Birthday party. My mother in law and I organised a get together with all of my father in laws friends and family to join him for drinks and nibbles.

The day was a beautiful one, it was a lovely spring day, it was a little windy but other than that it was perfect.

So really this post is to just say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the childrens POP.

Father and Son

You know when you really would like to get a picture of the family, but the children are just not interested in co-operating at

The kids were going crazy at home on Friday so I decided it was time to go to the park.

They always have fun at the park.

Little Miss LOVES the swing and The Little Man likes to push her, however sometimes it comes back a bit quick and catches him by surprise, no injuries yet.

Looks like Little Miss is thinking “Gee he is crazy!”

What do you think she is thinking?
