Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Swimming Lessons

The Little Man goes to swimming lessons once a week, but as it was school holidays this week so we booked him in for a full week of lessons, half an hour each day.  As we have a pool at home, we think that it is important that he can at least get himself back to the edge if he falls in.

I think that it made a big difference to his swimming this time. It has taken him months to get him to put his face and head in the water, but all of a sudden it has just happened.

I was starting to get a bit worried about it,

An Afternoon at a Playland

Fun in the Ball Pit

I took the two little Munchkins to a Playland  today, I can’t believe how much fun they had in the ball pit.
I have heard so many horror stories about ball pits and them not being clean etc. It always makes you aware of where you are taking them. But I didn’t have an issue with this one, it looked really clean and the kids had a absolute ball. hehe :o)
I do however find that playlands are fairly expensive, but I suppose they have to survive somehow. They also put the prices up for the school holidays, which I forgot all about. oh well.

I think that they

I know that I normally do the recipe on a Friday but today was my brother-in-laws birthday, Happy Birthday.

He really loves meatloaf, so we invited them over to our house to celebrate his birthday this evening, and I made him a meatloaf.

Here is a great recipe that I have been using for a while now, so now you can give it a go.

Weddings Make Me Cry

What a lovely Wedding Day

Well if you read a couple of weeks ago A Day and Night Pass, you will know that I was let loose to go to a Hen’s Day of a friend of mine. Well this weekend we got another pass out to attend the Wedding. Wow didn’t know myself, childless again.

I find that Weddings make me cry, when they are at the front of the church and they are saying their vows, thats it for me, the tears start to well in my eyes. The bride looked beautiful and the groom very handsome, they both looked really radiant and extremely happy.  Their vows were very special

Elephant Photo Holder

Easy to make Photo Holder - Elephant

This was a fun one to make, and it looks great on the wall when you are finished. I am going to try it in different animal shapes and put them on the wall in the Little Miss’ Bedroom, and clip some great pictures to them.

It would make a wall lots of fun. It works really well with the elephant though, as the peg becomes the trunk.

What you will need:

- Paper Coloured
- Cardboard - I just used the back of the cereal packet
- Small piece of white paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pen
- Pencil
- Peg - plastic or wooden

Here is what you will need

Sugary Foods and Childrens Behavior

Change in a Childs Behavior

There is a lot of talk about how some foods can change a childs behavior, our naturopath often mentions this, but when they are so young, you are unable to fully explain to them why they can’t eat or drink something, it becomes very difficult on both of you.

The naturopath often gives me a list of things that he should and shouldn’t eat, but I find it really difficult to stick to it.  Some times the list consists of all the foods that he will only eat, what is he suppose to eat then.

I have however noticed a difference with sugary foods, so this week I

Bored, Tired or Hungry

Behavior Changes When Either Bored, Tired or Hungry

The Little Man seems to have a bit of an issue with behavior changes, especially when he is either bored, hungry or tired.  There are things that you notice and that you can do to help the situation.

Being his Mum I am able to see these changes instantly and have now worked out which one is the problem. Sometimes I am able to fix it, but sometimes when it goes to far it is much harder.

Some things that I notice with the different situations

The little people just love the sand pit. This is one that we have at Nana & Pops house.

Fun all day long. I can’t believe that they can have so much fun in such a small space, with such a simple thing as sand, a few buckets and toys.

You can buy all these fancy sandpits, but this is just an el cheapo from KMart,  it is great because it has a lid to cover it when you are not using it. Or when it is hot you can fill the lid with water and you have paddling pool. Great fun!

Bangers and Beans - One Pot!

Bangers and Beans Made in Just One Pot.

This is a great recipe when you are in a hurry, you want something filling, and you don’t want to make a big mess in the kitchen. It is very quick, easy, and very tasty.

If you are not sure what a Banger is, it is a Sausage, it is best to use good quality thick sausages for this recipe, as they make it taste better.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Olive Oil
8 good quality pork sausages (you can you beef if you prefer)
2 carrots, peeled, halved length ways and sliced
2 onions, finely sliced
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 x 410g cans of 4 or 5 bean mix, drained
