I Love to Sing
I just LOVE singing in the car and always have, if I was to answer a questionnaire about my favorite things to do, one of them would be singing in the car.
Sometimes the Little Man really doesn’t like me singing “Don’t sing mummy!”, if it is a male singing he will say “it is my turn, this is the boys bit”, but then he never seems to sing along. It really depends if he knows the song.
Since having children, I find that more often than not the music we have playing in the car are the Wiggles or some children’s CD, hardly ever my own music, if I do happen to have my music on then it isn’t long before I hear, “Can I please have my music Mummy” from the back seat. Who could say no to a “please mummy”?.
I still find myself singing along to the Wiggles, they are not really that bad, the kids love them, their songs are very catchy, and stick in your head for days. Not that that is a good thing really.
The thing that got me the other day was, neither of the children were in the car, I was on my way to an appointment, and I had been in the car for at least 20 minutes, when I realised I was singing along to the Wiggles, What the?
There are no children in the car why are you singing the wiggles?, Oh dear that is a bit sad really.
My husband is also often caught singing some childrens songs while he is cooking or doing something in the garden. It is very funny, then you hear him saying ” Arggghh I can’t get that damn song out of my head”.
Have you caught yourself singing along to a children’s song when there are no children around?

Yep, but I smartened up with my second child. He’s never seen or heard the wiggles…he sings along to Springsteen
