Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Weight Loss

This is a program that I have used and lost 12kilos/26 pounds in 11 Weeks.

A whole 24 hours with NO Children

On Saturday, a good friend of mine had her hens day. So I managed to get a day pass so that I could attend. Leaving the children with the in-laws for the day, they love it.

My husband was coming home from an overseas trip and would be arriving home first thing on Sunday morning, so I stayed with my sister who lives closer to the airport. Bonus a night pass as well. A whole 24 hours with no children, it was a bit of a shock to the system.

Saturday was a great day, we all headed off to Fort Denison, which is a fort that was build in the middle of the Sydney harbour, in the 1800’s. A great view of the city, as you can see in the background of the photo of all of us.

We caught the ferry over to the island, where we enjoyed a tour of the island. I was very windy as you can also see the pictures, but it was a great day. My Sister organised the day out, we wanted to do something a little different than the normal hens days/nights.

I still found it difficult to get used to the fact that I didn’t have anyone pulling on my trousers or wanting to be picked up and carried. It is a strange feeling, when you are with your children, you feel like you want some time out. But when you do get some time out you kind of miss them. I say kind of as you still really enjoy your day on your own.

We then headed to a bar on the harbour and had a lovely lunch and some drinkies.  Followed by a lovely evening with my Sister on the couch to watch Grease and then Pretty Woman.  I had a lovely full nights sleep with no wake ups. wooo hooo.

It was a shame that I still had to get up at 6am to get to the airport to pick up my husband. It was however worth it and very nice to have him home. I missed him terribly.

All in all though, a fun day was had by all.  Including the children, report back from the in-laws that they had a lovely day, and they were very well behaved. Well done all.

Can you remember a time when you had a day to yourself?
