A Dust Storm ???

This morning was a very unusual morning, when I opened my eyes I didn’t really know what to think. The room was an orange/red colour, not the normal sunny morning wake up.

I sat up and looked out the window, it was like a scene from a movie. It was like the end of the world and we were the only ones left. It had a really eeire and spooky feel.

The little man came in and said his normal good morning, followed by “it is orange mummy, I thought it was my night light, I turned it off but it is still orange”.

I then had to explain to him that I really didn’t know what it was, so we flipped open the trusty computer and had a look at the newspaper site, it was a dust storm. Some more explaining followed about dust storms, which he seemed satisfied with so I must have done ok.

We have been staying at my parents in laws, my husband has gone away for work. It is nice to have a helping hand. Here are a couple of photos that I took of what it looked like outside.

Very strange, all the experts are saying that they haven’t seen anything like it. The dust didn’t really disappear until about 1pm and it has been very windy. Definitely an inside day for the little people today with all that dust out side.

We will need to do some cleaning up, the storm has left a film of red dust all over the furniture and floors.
