Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Parents are less likely to exercise - Why?

Why is it that parents are less likely to exercise?

If you are a parent, you will more than likely think that you know the answer to this.  You are always running around after the children day in day out, so you feel like you are getting enough exercise, but unfortunately you probably are not.  Parents are less likely to exercise because they are so exhausted from running around after the children, the last thing you want to do exercise.

Parents can find that they are so busy looking after the children that they forget to look after themselves, which is not good for your own health and well being. Your health

A Day and Night Pass

A whole 24 hours with NO Children

On Saturday, a good friend of mine had her hens day. So I managed to get a day pass so that I could attend. Leaving the children with the in-laws for the day, they love it.

My husband was coming home from an overseas trip and would be arriving home first thing on Sunday morning, so I stayed with my sister who lives closer to the airport. Bonus a night pass as well. A whole 24 hours with no children, it was a bit of a shock to the system.

Saturday was a great day, we all headed off to Fort Denison, which is a fort

She might be a bit upset with me in the future for posting these pictures, but I just have to share.

We bought the Little Man some new underpants and Little Miss got hold of the packet.

She decided that they would make a great hat or balacalva.

She is a funny Little thing.

We have had a fun weekend with lots of laughs, we hope that you did too.

Egg Carton Computer - Craft Project

Computer Made From an Egg Carton

The little Man is always on at me to use my computer, or that he wants a computer of his own. But as he is only 3 years old, I really don’t think that he needs one just yet.

So what better thing to do, but to make our own out of an egg carton.

Here is what you will need:
- Egg Carton
- Scissors
- Sticky Tape
- Paper - Whatever colour you like.
- Coloured sticky dots
- Permanent marker

Here is what you need to do to put it all together:

- Turn Carton inside out and tape it together on the sides, so that it looks a bit like a

Sydney has a Dust Storm

A Dust Storm ???

This morning was a very unusual morning, when I opened my eyes I didn’t really know what to think. The room was an orange/red colour, not the normal sunny morning wake up.

I sat up and looked out the window, it was like a scene from a movie. It was like the end of the world and we were the only ones left. It had a really eeire and spooky feel.

The little man came in and said his normal good morning, followed by “it is orange mummy, I thought it was my night light, I turned it off but it is still orange”.

I then had to explain to

Things That Make Being A Mum Worthwhile

Is Being A Mum Worthwhile

When you are a mum you sometimes think to yourself,  is being a mum really worthwhile. Well I don’t really need to think of my answer as it is YES, MOST DEFINITELY!. Being a Mum definitely has its ups and downs but it is absolutely worth all the downs when you get all the ups.

Here are a few things that I can think of, that make being a Mum worthwhile, there are of course many many more.

-  When just out of the blue, your little one gives you a hug and says “I Love you the best mummy”.

- When you get kisses, yes the big open

The Little Man had a concert with his music class, he did really well, he did some great singing and actions.

When they finished he received his first medal, which he is EXTREMELY proud of, and so he should be.

I think that he has shown it to everyone, including the next door neighbor.

We are very proud of our little music man.

Where’s Stripey? - Book

Where’s Stripey? - Written by Wendy Binks

I have read this one hundreds of times, I could probably read it with my eyes closed now.

It is an Australian story about an emu, who has 30 chicks but loses one and has to go and find him. It is written with many Australian slang terms and places. Great book.

Washing Thrill

Isn’t it strange the thrills that we get when we are Mum’s. Just thought that I would share this little post with you all.

I was just a bit excited today, I managed to get all the washing washed, dried and ironed all in the one day. This is amazing I know, it is almost un heard of, but I managed it and I am very proud of my achievement.

I know I am a crazy woman, that something like this can give me such a thrill.

Children and Sickness

The Little Man is Not Well

I really don’t like it when your children are sick, I feel helpless, and just wish that I could make them all better in a flash. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work that way.  Sometimes a kiss will make it all better but other times it just won’t work.

Well the poor little man had a temperature above 38℃ for a couple of days, he was really not feeling well at all, he had gone off his food, and was extremely lethargic. I took him off to the doctors on the 3rd day, and the doctor said that he had all the signs of the Chicken Pox.

Aghhh,
