Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Traveling with children has its up and downs, my parents live about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Sydney, so we are used to the traveling, normally we travel of a night time while the children are sleeping, as it makes the trip just that little bit more bearable.

As we have done the trip many times it is not that exciting for the children any more so they are not missing out on anything. But this time we thought that we would leave the city early and make our way in the day light, so we could get there in time for bedtime or just after.

Well little did we know that the traffic was going to be horrendous, normally it would take us an hour to get to a certain point, but it took us 2 hours. The children were starting to get hungry and didn’t really want to be in their car seats any longer. Little Miss had a bit of a melt down and screamed at the top of her lungs. Needless to say the little man didn’t enjoy that and neither did J. So it was a very tense time. We didn’t have that much further till we stopped, but fortunately Little Miss nodded off to sleep followed shortly by the Little Man.

It was a shame really as we had to wake them both up to have something to eat, and then we still had another 3 or so hours to go. Both Little People nodded off and the rest of the trip was fine.

When we wake up the next morning we realize why we do the 4 1/2 hour trip, firstly we love to catch up with my parents, I miss them being so far away, but also understand why they live where they do. They moved to this small town back in 1985, when I first started high school. They have lived in a few different houses in their time there, but this one has to be the best. It is like arriving in paradise, so peaceful and quiet, and just a short walk to the beach.

This is what the house looks like from the front.

This is the view that you get to look at when you wake up, what more could you ask for. We are here for a week, HOORAY!!

We love traveling and the children are good little travelers, but they all have their moments. Have you had a traveling moment?
