Being a Mum is like flying a kite, you never know which way it is going to turn, it can turn really fast and end up crashing. Or it can just float happily and peacefully in one place, or simply sway from side to side

Traveling with children can be fun, it doesn’t always have to be stressful, though if they are small it can be sometimes. I know I travel over 4 hours with my small children regularly so I have a couple of tips up my sleeve that I would like to share with you. These are mainly for shorter car journeys.
Driving during the night
- An ideal thing to do when the children are reasonably young, is to try to travel of a night while the children are sleeping. I work it so that I feed them, put them in their pj’s and put them in the car, even if they are awake

Sand, Water, Father & Son
What a wonderful combination, so much fun to be had.
The Little Man’s favorite combination
He is never happier than when he is on the beach in the water with his Dad!.
Traveling with children has its up and downs, my parents live about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Sydney, so we are used to the traveling, normally we travel of a night time while the children are sleeping, as it makes the trip just that little bit more bearable.
As we have done the trip many times it is not that exciting for the children any more so they are not missing out on anything. But this time we thought that we would leave the city early and make our way in the day light, so we could get there in time for bedtime or just after.
Well little did we know

The Bike Lesson - From the Dr Seuss collection but written by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
A great story about a father teaching his son how to ride a bike, with some great lessons on the way. I love how the Dr Seuss books never age, even if they were written years ago they are still relevant today.
Have you read The Bike Lesson?
I had never tried to make coconut ice before, as I thought that it was just way to difficult to make.
Well I wouldn’t say that it was easy, but it wasn’t too difficult. I don’t think that it is one for the little people to help with, but I am sure that they will have fun eating it, probably in small amounts though as it has a fair bit of sugar in it.
I was going to take a few pictures of the making but with the saucepan bubbling away and you have to be quick before it sets, it all got a bit to hard, so we just have a

The Craft Man busy at work. Don’t you just love the put on smile.
If I had to put a caption on this photo I would put
“Hurry up Mum and take the photo, I am wasting precious craft time”
I just love watching my children play in the park. You can just see their imagination grow while they are playing.
Just the excitement in their faces as they play and make up things, makes it worth while taking them there.
I do however wonder what is going through their heads, when they are unable to explain it or to young to talk, like little miss, they just can’t tell you. Little miss was sitting there putting her hands in and out of the sand, just wonder what she thought of it, what did it feel like?.
I just love how their imagination works, you can just see the little minds working at

Well I suppose there are worse things that he could be addicted to, at least with craft he is using his creative skills.
What happened was one day I was trying to think of something different that we could do, we had had a couple of rainy days and after a few days of being inside so the children have had enough and were climbing the walls. There are only so many tea parties with the teddies that you can have in one day.
So off we went to the shops to see what we could come up with. Well we found the craft box of all craft boxes (K-Mart), it has

Dinosaurs Love Underpants - Written by Claire Freedman & Ben Cort.
What a great title for a book, and this has to be one of the Little Mans Favourites at the moment.
It is the story about how Dinosaurs were wiped out. Good for a laugh for the adults too.
This is the first of many - I can’t really call it a review as it isn’t, it is just a list of our favourite books that we read and like. To give you ideas and maybe your children will like them also.
Books are great for children, they learn so much from them, and just have fun reading them, and it is great

Little Miss has found her voice, she stands and yells at the top of her voice.
It is such a great thing when they realise what their voice can do, she is a little loud though.
It is very cute and funny.
